Brenton's Septuagint is an English translation of the Septuagint. This translation was completed by Sir Lancelot Charles Lee Brenton and first published in 1844.

Peter had already told them that what they had just witnessed (Acts 2:1-15) was what the prophet Joel had prophesied would happen in the LAST DAYS...

Notice that verse 28 states that GOD said that "I WILL POUR OUT MY SPIRIT UPON ALL FLESH". Does "ALL" really mean EVERY human being? We can easily determine the answer from scripture... The UNBELIEVERS did not receive the Holy Spirit. The words "ALL" and "EVERY" are not always used in scripture as we use them.
Also, notice that only those who "CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE DELIVERED" or "SAVED". From what were they being saved or delivered? Answer: "THE DAY OF THE LORD" or GOD'S WRATH
And notice that it was the "REMNANT WHOM THE LORD SHALL CALL" - "IN MOUNT ZION AND IN JERUSALEM" who would need to be "DELIVERED" or "SAVED".
Here's what my friend and favorite Bible Commentator, Bob Cruickshank, says about Acts 2:17...
"If “the last days” weren’t kick-started until 1948, somebody needs to go back in time and let the Apostle Peter know this! He was under the impression that the last days were in motion on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:16-17). Likewise, the Writer to the Hebrews defines “the last days” as the time period when God spoke to mankind through His Son (Hebrews 1:2). This was the first century, not the twenty-first century or even the twentieth century.
From a purely Biblical perspective, the New Testament “last days” have nothing to do with the “closing days” of human “history” or the end of the world. The New Testament “last days” were the “last days” of the Old Covenant order and the world as it once was. Everything was about to change. As David Chilton wrote, “…the period spoken of in the Bible as ‘the last days’ (or ‘last times’ or ‘last hour’) is the period between Christ’s birth and the destruction of Jerusalem. The early church was living at the end of the old age and the beginning of the new.”[4]
We are in that new age now – the New Covenant age, the age of the Messiah. The truth is their “last days” are our “past days.” We need to stop interpreting fulfilled prophecy as unfulfilled, or as not fulfilled until 1948. We need to focus on the task at hand to ensure that we are leaving our children and grandchildren a better world than was left to us. If anything, we’re moving in the wrong direction. The world today is a mess, and so is our country. Perhaps God’s People should start focusing on 2048 instead of 1948 and ask these questions: “What will the world be like 25 years from now?” “What can we do to make it better?” “Can we make it better than it is right now?”
The fulfilled, Biblical prophecies of the “past” are not in our “future.” Decades before the X-Men movie, the Moody Blues had an album called, “Days of Future Passed.” Another good title, and it also applies to our current situation. "Circling back to Peter’s use of Joel 2:31 and the moon turning to blood (Acts 2:20), the audience on that day included “Jews and proselytes” from all over the Roman Empire – including Mesopotamia (Acts 2:10). Just as the Egyptians (who were also there on that day) worshiped the sun, the Mesopotamians worshiped the moon. Peter’s message was that Jesus had been “exalted to the right hand of God” (Acts 2:33), and it was lights out for the gods of the other nations.
As these new believers returned home after the Day of Pentecost, the Gospel would penetrate and permeate the nations from which they came. And they would bring Peter’s message with them – the territorial deities, who formerly had dominion over them, were being displaced, disarmed, and defeated (cf. Colossians. 2:15). Thus far I have shown from scripture that the Generation during the time of Jesus and the Apostles was the PERVERSE AND FAITHLESS GENERATION that GOD spoke to Moses about. I have also shown from scripture that GOD'S WRATH or JUDGMENT would come upon that Generation.
Would GOD'S WRATH or JUDGMENT or DAMNATION come upon that Generation while they were Living or After they Died?
Answer: BOTH
In a letter from the Apostle Paul to Timothy which was written in approximately AD 63, Paul said that the Lord Jesus Christ was ABOUT TO JUDGE LIVING AND DEAD AT HIS MANIFESTATION AND HIS REIGN!

Based on the scriptures above I believe that Christ's MANIFESTATION, APPEARING and PRESENCE (PAROUSIA) refer to the same event. The Judgment of the Living occurred at that time and the Judgment of the Dead occurred shortly thereafter at the Great White Throne Judgment.
The Apostle Peter said the judge (Jesus Christ) was "READY TO JUDGE THE QUICK AND THE DEAD" and "THE END OF ALL THINGS IS AT HAND". He also told them to be "SOBER" and "WATCH". Are we to believe that the judge has been "READY" to judge the Living and the Dead for almost 2,000 years? "AT HAND" definitely does NOT mean 2,000 years! Why would Peter tell his audience to be "SOBER" and "WATCH" if the judgment was not for their time?

From a primary tello (to set out for a definite point or goal); properly, the point aimed at as a limit, i.e. (by implication) THE CONCLUSION of an act or state (TERMINATION (literally, figuratively or indefinitely), result (immediate, ultimate or prophetic), purpose); specially, an impost or levy (as paid) -- + continual, custom, END(-ing), finally, uttermost. What "END" was Peter referring to that was "AT HAND"?
Answer: It wasn't the End of the World or the End of Time because that didn't happen! Therefore, either Peter was WRONG or he meant the "END" of something else was "AT HAND". What came to an "END" in AD 70, a few years after Peter's statement, was Old Covenant Israel. The Nation of Judea was Destroyed including Jerusalem and the Temple. Their religion was Destroyed... There was no more temple, sacrifices and Levitical Priesthood. A new religion (Talmudic Judaism) developed over the years but it is an ABOMINATION to GOD and the World!

Peter also said that Christ's "GLORY" was "ABOUT TO BE REVEALED" (verse 5:1) and that the "ELDERS" would "RECEIVE THE UNFADING CROWN OF GLORY" (<-- verse 5:4 -->) "AT THE MANIFESTATION OF THE CHIEF SHEPHERD (Christ).

The Apostle Paul told the Colossians that they had been made alive, joined to Christ, and their trespasses (sins) had been forgiven...

The Revelation of Jesus Christ was for the purpose of showing his servants "THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY COME TO PASS" because "THE TIME" for the Fulfillment of the Prophecy was "AT HAND".
Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY COME TO PASS; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Revelation 1:2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. SHORTLY does not mean 1,900+ years later and neither does "FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND".

The Greek word MELLO is used in the original text and it means "ABOUT TO".
Notice that John was NOT TOLD to write about things that were hundreds or thousands of years in the future!
When scripture gives a definite time frame for an event and that time has passed then you must conclude that the prophesied event came to pass.
If you conclude that the prophecy failed or the time prophesied for the event was wrong then either you are wrong or that particular scripture was not inspired of GOD.
In the last chapter of the book of Revelation the time frame for the prophecy was reiterated...
1) Revelation 22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel TO SHEW UNTO HIS SERVANTS THE THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY BE DONE.

Before the Judgment of the Dead could occur at the Great White Throne they had to be Resurrected out of Hades. The Apostle Paul said that "THERE IS ABOUT TO BE A RISING AGAIN OF THE DEAD, BOTH OF RIGHTEOUS AND UNRIGHTEOUS"...

The Greek word "MELLO" is used to show that the Resurrection was "ABOUT TO" occur. Most translators do not translate the word "MELLO" properly. It's probably because of their Futurist Beliefs. Translation Bias is REAL and you must be aware of it when studying scripture!
The prophet Daniel was told about the Resurrection of the Righteous and Unrighteous....

Daniel was told to "SHUT UP THE WORDS, AND SEAL THE BOOK, EVEN TO THE TIME OF THE END". The Time of the End was in the 1st Century which was about 500 years in the future from Daniel's time.
Daniel 12:4 But thou, O DANIEL, SHUT UP THE WORDS, AND SEAL THE BOOK, EVEN TO THE TIME OF THE END: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

In the Book of Revelation John was told "SEAL NOT THE SAYINGS OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK: FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND."
Revelation 22:10 And he saith unto me, SEAL NOT THE SAYINGS OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK: FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND. Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
If Daniel’s prophecy was SEALED because it belonged to a time over 500 years away, how can John’s message, which he was told NOT TO SEAL, belong to a time 1900+ years away as the Futurists believe?
Jesus said in Revelation 22:12: "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be."
Daniel heard one angel ask another "HOW LONG SHALL IT BE TO THE END OF THESE WONDERS?" and Brenton's Septuagint translates it as "WHEN WILL BE THE END OF THE WONDERS"...
Daniel 12:5 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. Daniel 12:6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, HOW LONG SHALL IT BE TO THE END OF THESE WONDERS?

The "WONDERS" of course are what was mentioned in verses 12:1-3 and that includes the Great Tribulation and the Resurrection of the Righteous and Unrighteous. The angel answered...

The "TIME, TIMES, AND AN HALF" means three and a half years. The rest of the meaning of verse 12:7 is debatable but we know that the Jews in Jerusalem were either Killed (SHATTERED) or Dispersed (SCATTERED) in AD 70.
In the KJV the phrase TO SCATTER is translated from the Hebrew word NAPHATS which is Strong's H5310:

Jesus told His Disciples WHEN these things would occur and that it would be before their GENERATION had passed...
Matthew 24:34 VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, THIS GENERATION SHALL NOT PASS, TILL ALL THESE THINGS BE FULFILLED. Matthew 24:35 HEAVEN AND EARTH SHALL PASS AWAY, but my words shall not pass away.
How could those things have occurred since "HEAVEN AND EARTH" are still here?
The "HEAVEN AND EARTH" in Matthew 24:35 are NOT the "HEAVEN AND EARTH" that most people think about when they read this verse. According to Revelation 20:11 - "EARTH AND THE HEAVEN FLED AWAY" before the Great White Throne Judgment...
Revelation 20:11 And I saw a GREAT WHITE THRONE, and him that sat on it, from whose face the EARTH AND THE HEAVEN FLED AWAY; AND THERE WAS FOUND NO PLACE FOR THEM.
Bible Commentator Foy Wallace made these comments about 20:11...
"A continuation of the textual analysis will add “precept upon precept” that the apocalypse was limited to the period of the struggle and triumph of the church with opposing powers in the first century of its existence.
1. The great white throne. “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them”--20:11.
This visional tribunal was the bar of divine justice to be meted to the criminals of war against Christ and the church.
The description of the great white throne adds awe to the vision, as it also symbolized the character of pure and unmingled justice from the magnificent seat of judgment dispensed by the righteous Judge of the small and great. The Psalmist put it to verse in Psalms 84:14 : “Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.” From before the face of God the earth and the heaven fled away: and there was found no place for them. This was not flight from one locality to another--the phrase fled away indicated complete disappearance.
The earth, as in other visions, referred to the inhabitants of the land of Palestine; and the heaven signified the authorities and governments.
After complete defeat there was no place for their activities of persecution and opposition, and they disappeared from their visional positions before the face of the great God of judgment."
In Revelation 21:1 John saw "A NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH: FOR THE FIRST HEAVEN AND THE FIRST EARTH WERE PASSED AWAY"...

Foy Wallace made these comments about 21:1...
"The new conditions of the earth and of the sea did not signify abolition of the old order of governments, nor the formation of new secular and political powers. The earth throughout the apocalypse referred to the place of the nations, with particular reference to Palestine; and the placid or tossed sea referred to the state of society; and the word heaven denoted the existing authorities of government. The new heaven and earth, and the troubled sea, having passed away and represented as being no more, indicated the changed conditions within the existing governments and society to make them favorable for the prosperity of the cause of Christ and his church throughout the empire. The old system of Judaism had been removed and the opposition of heathenism had been overcome ; and the vision represented new conditions to surround the church in the changed world.
The word new has various connotations. It may refer to that which has never been used; or to a thing of late date and recent origin; or to something novel and strange; or simply to something else, another possession, relation or state. In this context the evident meaning of the new earth was that the surroundings were prepared and made favorable for the expansion of the kingdom of Christ, made possible by the removal of Judaism, the Jewish theocracy and the Jewish state. The literal Jerusalem was no more.
The armies of Nero and Vespasian had laid waste the old Jerusalem and Judea; and on the rocks of the Aegean sea John envisioned the forward march of the church, the expansion of the kingdom of Christ, and the spread of the gospel to “the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
This phrase, new heaven and new earth, was not new in scripture terminology. The Old Testament prophets referred to Israel’s return from Babylon and their restoration to their own land of Judea as to them a “new heaven and new earth.” (Isaiah 65: 17--66:22; Ezekiel 11: 19--36:26-36). To the Corinthians the apostle Paul described the new state in Christ as the old things having passed away--referring to the new spiritual relation to Christ in the new covenant versus the old fleshly Israelism of the old covenant. (2 Corinthians 5:17) To the scattered Jerusalem church the apostle Peter adapted that phrase in his exhortation to look for the heavenly reward in the eternal world. (2 Peter 3:13) In the apocalypse the apostle John applied the same phrase to the emergence of the church from the tribulation period.
The figurative use of the sea has a natural connection. The creator has secured and fortified the natural world by the divisions of the earth, with the interposition of vast expanses of water as barriers to conquest. This barrier in society was figuratively removed for the conquest of Christ through the expansion of the gospel--there would no longer exist separating barriers between the people of the earth. Christianity without the restraint of heathen government would become universal, as the prophet declared: “for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as waters cover the sea.” It is significant that this prophecy of Isaiah was uttered in the context of the eleventh chapter dealing with the prevalence of the gospel under the rule and reign of Christ; and it was quoted by Paul in his epistle to the Romans (chapter 15:12) as being fulfilled in that time.
The heavenly city, new Jerusalem, symbolic of the victorious church was visualized as having been withdrawn from the scene of the removal and destruction of the old Jerusalem; but now that the old order had passed away with the disappearance of its city and sanctuary; the church having survived annihilation, the new Jerusalem was seen as descending from heaven. The new earth represented the renovation of old conditions; and the vision that thereafter there should be no more sea meant no more such sea as that from which the beast had emerged. The vision meant that a new state had been wrought by the truth, by the word of the Conqueror whose name was The Word, by which sword all foes had been vanquished; and there was no more the tossed and troubled sea of tribulation."
When describing "the Most Holy Place" (Holy of Holies} of the Tabernacle, the Jewish Historian, Flavius Josephus, referred to it as "a heaven peculiar to God" and the rest of the tabernacle was described as "sea and land, on which men live"...
4. As for the inside, Moses parted its length into three partitions. At the distance of ten cubits from the most secret end, Moses placed four pillars, the workmanship of which was the very same with that of the rest; and they stood upon the like bases with them, each a small matter distant from his fellow. Now the room within those pillars was the most holy place; but the rest of the room was the tabernacle, which was open for the priests. However, this proportion of the measures of the tabernacle proved to be an imitation of the system of the world; FOR THAT THIRD PART THEREOF WHICH WAS WITHIN THE FOUR PILLARS, TO WHICH THE PRIESTS WERE NOT ADMITTED, IS, AS IT WERE, A HEAVEN PECULIAR TO GOD. But the space of the twenty cubits, is, as it were, sea and land, on which men live, and so this part is peculiar to the priests only. But at the front, where the entrance was made, they placed pillars of gold, that stood on bases of brass, in number seven; but then they spread over the tabernacle veils of fine linen and purple, and blue, and scarlet colors, embroidered. The first veil was ten cubits every way, and this they spread over the pillars which parted the temple, and kept the most holy place concealed within; and this veil was that which made this part not visible to any. Regardless of what you believe the "Heaven and Earth" of Matthew 24:35 was... Jesus told His Disciples that it would "PASS AWAY" in their Generation (Matthew 24:34)!
Jesus said, "TILL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS, ONE JOT OR ONE TITTLE SHALL IN NO WISE PASS FROM THE LAW"...
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, TILL HEAVEN AND EARTH PASS, ONE JOT OR ONE TITTLE SHALL IN NO WISE PASS FROM THE LAW, till all be fulfilled.
Are we still under the law or old covenant today? If not, then HEAVEN AND EARTH have passed away or Jesus is a LIAR! Which do you choose?
When talking to His Disciples about the Destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem Jesus said...
Luke 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Luke 21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. Luke 21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, THAT ALL THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN MAY BE FULFILLED.
